This boxlock arrangement is known in German speaking countries as "Prager Kammerschloss = Prague chambered lock", as it was invented there by Antonin Vincenc Lebeda (1795 1857). Prague and Bohemia was then part of Austria. His 1829 Austrian Privileg (Austrian word for patent) was not valid in the various German or other European states, so the design was widely copied. By 1850 it was in the public domain anyhow. As Leipzig is quite close to the Czech border and the Bohemian Gunmaking center Weipert directly behind this border, IMHO Edel had some of the work done there.
August Wilhelm Edel(1799 - 1865),Hainstrasse 5, Leipzig, was first mentioned as a Büchsenschäfter = stock maker, later as a gunmaker.
