Parker-Hale Volunteer

Hello Folks,

I just came from the range where I had such a wonderful time that I felt like sharing it. Some guns are just an absolute pleasure to shoot, and the Volunteer is one of them. It shoots a 450 gr, 0.451” lubricated bullet, using 80 gr of Elephant FFg powder for about 1100 fps. The bullets are bore diameter and don’t engrave on loading. There is no effort involved in pushing them down the barrel; they bump up on firing. Accuracy is outstanding, with the whole days shooting going into one 3” group. The gun just shot the center out of the target. The target I like for this kind of shooting is the NRA 100-Yard Smallbore Rifle Target, which has three bulls. I’ll bring this one back two more times! Anyway, I couldn’t have enjoyed a warm spring day more. Thanks for listening.
