You may be right.
Many were used by the North and South in our Civil War, and some knockoffs were made in the South during the war and issued to Southern troops IIRC.
Lots of Civil War hardware came West as issue equipment during the period of issue and as civilian guns acquired thru Gubmnt sale.
It is not a Ky Rifle.
