Re: fancy Longrifle

OK Cap.
It's made for a man in Germany. It's got a 44" long 62 caliber Colorain barrel and a Chambers "Early Ketland" lock.
The stock is 100% hand made, as are the side plate, toe plate, patch box and inlays. The butt plate is also cast by me.
It's stocked in Birdseye maple as per the request of the owner.

Johan is coming this fall to hunt antelope with me and he's going to use this rifle. If we get time, we will also go after elk. Hunting in America is a real treat for him, as he doesn't get the time to do it much.

The rifle has a folding 2nd blade on the rear sight. It's zeroed at 75 yards with the standing blade, and the folding blade is zeroed at 150 yards.

It uses a .600" ball and 140 gr of 3F powder. Velocity is about 1875 FPS with this load. The balls weigh 322 grains.

Obviously, it's not for sale, but I do have another one about 2/3 done that will be. I have to get several of my customers guns done first however.
It's got the same barrel, a Round Faced Chambers Lock, but it's stocked in curly sugar maple and has a 13 5/8" Length of Pull. It's even fancier than this rifle. It will be done in the summer of 09. If you are interested, let me know.
