I am one happy camper. After some surfing the web, I found exactly what I want at the following:

From this site, look on the left side of the page for "David Gentry 3-position Safety" link. He makes left and right handed Mod 70 style replacements for the Mauser 98 at $155.00 ($162.55 delivered). I just completed my order. They also make replacements for the Mod 700 Rem. as well.

Of course, it takes some gunsmith work to install, but that should not be too costly.
