Lee When you say left hand Mauser are you meaning a left stocked rifle with a r/h action or have you located a true l/h mauser clone, I am guessing that as you say it is a Zastava action, then it is a right handed mauser action?! I am left handed and have an ecclectic mix of both true l/h rifles and some on Standard length 98 actions that I simply use from my left shoulder without too much problem whatsoever. The safety you mention, viz Model 70 3 position are offered for Mauser actions either as a safety lever for gunsmith installation via a horizontal slot milled into the bolt sleeve or alternatively as a full replacement bolt sleeve just requiring blacking and fitting to the bolt. On both variants the lever tends to sit to the right hand side of the bolt (i.e the same siide as the bolt handle) but seem convenient to use by a southpaw like ourselves!! Take a look in the on-line catalogue for Brownells (www.brownells.com) they have a number on offer and by looking at these you will get a better idea of what is available and how it will look on your gun. Hope this helps Jonathan |
