Just thought I'd update this. I've been in Tanzania for a few weeks and the 404 got it's first use. Although I wasn't completely happy (to say the least) with the bullet performance on the softs the rifle proved a complete success and the rifle took 5 or 6 Buffalo. Penetration was phenomenal. One (RNSP) bullet went in a buff on a texas heart shot and exited out of the nose, - no expansion whatsoever

and a sabi mono solid went through the chest of another buff then through a 30 inch circumference (fairly soft) tree and three quarters of the way through another tree of a similar size. The tracker cut the bullet out with his panga and other than the rifling marks it was undamaged. I was so suprised by this degree of penetration I clocked the rounds as soon as I got home but they're fine.
