The 640s had FN large ring actions and are excellent hunting rifles. The stocks split at the tang almost always, however, but a bit of MicroBed will fix that.

My post of 05/04/06 in the Rifles section shows a similar rifle to the one you are considering. I absolutely love my three Husqvarnas...two are 640s (9,3X62 & 30-06) and one is on the HVA action (7X57 Akl. Imp).
