African on the list for sure- unfortunately most of my hunting will be outside "the dark continent" Except a few species most African animals can be taken with "normal" calibres used for sheep, bear, moose, elk deer and wild boar etc.

A 9,3X70 would fit without opening the action

My smith has built a few 404 Jeffery on standard mauser actions, open a few millimetres in the rear would be no problem on a ZG-47 since factory magazine is 89mm. Altering the actions look by slotting to ease loading is not an option. I would rather use a magnum mauser and 416 Rigby. A rifle dedicated for dangerous game built on a magnum would be perfect, a great reason to procure one more toy and annoy the local Gestapo authorities

ZG-47 was originally chambered for a number of metric calibres and 270, 3006. Military cartridges can be a hindrance in some countries- Belgium, France and Spain got some restrictions.
