The Heym Express Rifle that I had was basically a giant Mauser 98, but with a few modifications. The shroud was a Heym design. The safety was a model 70 style but with a different shape. And the ejector, rather than being a fixed blade, was a telescoping pin in the bolt body. To be clear, it was not a spring-loaded plunger like a regular PF action, put a pin that came into action as the bolt was moved far enough back. Does anyone know why Heym would use a telescoping pin for an ejector rather than the traditional fixed blade? |
