Weither or not you agree with current political stances and statements made by France, one thing that you must always consider each time you load a cartridge, and once more when you fire your cartridge, is that the French are responsible for that conical bullet hitting what you were shooting at. So in that regard, the statement about nobody copying the French is grossly wrong. Unless of course, you are shooting a muzzle loader with roundballs or using shotshells. I am sure there were more French inventions in the realm of firearms, but that one is a pretty large one and states my point clear enough.
