In reply to: I will reply to this but, it is the only reply I will make on the subject. I don't want to hijack the thread any more. I come from old english/irish stock and have a long history of war's with the french (and people thing that only spanish etc have long memories! ![]() Also they will talk of 'honour' and betray their closest friend for it. The clearest and most enduring example of this is France, 1940. A good start to the study and background of this period is William L. Shirer's "The Collapse of the Third Republic". The dirty deed done in the name of 'honour' in this time are astonishing! And, according to the french leaders, none of it was the fault of the french, it was all the fault of the english! ![]() |
