SN 126579 7x64

"Numbered. Sharp-edged bare barrel interior. Very good original bluing. Beautiful light stock with minor storage marks. Original Mauser butt plate.

Overall length 103 cm. Barrel length 50 cm. Stock length 37 cm. Weight 2980 grams.

This is a rare piece from the last Mauser period, when weapons were manufactured from remaining stocks at the Mauser factory under French occupation.

The system was originally a standard Mauser model, which was first manufactured for the 7x57 cartridge and then changed to 7x64. I think this was done at the factory. The barrel is from older stocks, as can be seen from the transition of the cartridge chamber. The magazine box is from before World War I, with the lever. The stock still has no metal finish! The chamber stem is type M (Mannlicher Schönauer).

Tested in March 1947 in Ulm. Additionally, a French re-test with AR and crown.

The carbine was probably never fired (strike pad on the breech). Never mounted!"
