An older, imported Mauser 98 in .30-06 could be anything from an original Mauser sporter (A, B, M) to a European bolt gun in that caliber built on the 98 action (military or commercial). It could also be an American custom creation. As far as I know there are no military bolt action rifles chambered in .30-06 other than the 1903 Springfield.
Any thoughts on this?
I have a Brazilian Mod 954 made by Itajuba chambered in 30 06 ,there were also quite a few countries who rebarreled their older service rifles into 30 06 in the 50's.
