No, a CIP maximum pressure existed from 1940 on only. Until 1939 the gunmaker could specify the factory load his gun was to be proofed for.
The 1934 handbook listed these loads and pressures.
9.3x62:
18.5 g = 285 gr rn, 710 m/s = 2329 fps, 2900 at pressure
16.7 g = 258 gr H-jacket, 820 m/s = 2690 fps, 3250 at
And a 9.3x62 “Magnum” load:
16.5 g = 255 gr boat tail copper pointed, 823 m/s = 2700 fps, 3350 at. That was a 16 % pressure increase over the original 285 gr load.
