One of, if not the main reason I want to fancy this one up a bit is because it's still in original Caliber and metal. I have a great bit of respect for the 6.5x55 cartridge. So in this case some decent wood in an attractive 'classic' style along with some minor metal work should produce the trifecta; effective, accurate and attractive. I'm just trying to find a classic 'look' to try and shamelessly copy.
Yes of course. Why not. The Dorleac would be the ultimate customisation. I'd do one as well, if I had lots of funds. A dozen ideas have priority though for me.
My rifle with a better trigger, perhaps different safety is fine. An effective deer and feral animal killer.
I like a Mauser 96 in 6.5x55 is a fine modern hunting rifle. A 120 year old cartridge. And still outperforms modern wannabes.
