Hi Scott, good to see a new poster here.

Other forumites on your side of the pond will no doubt post examples of both Swedish and American sporters on the 96 action, as well as sporterised military versions.

In Australia, thousands of mil-surp Swedes were imported in the 1970s and fitted up with a fairly nice mass-produced coachwood? stock with subdued mone-carlo cheek-piece and long fore-end with simple but pleasing lines. They retained the 6.5x55 chambering, and most were immediately fitted with a Hillver bridge mount ready for the buyer's choice of scope.

I have one of these in my gunsafe, belongs to my eldest daughter, but here's an example already on the web:


This one is from a Canadian seller, Shooters Choice.
It has 2-piece mounts but the stock lines are the same.
