I'm looking for information, and hopefully photos. I'm curious about customized military Swedish rifles. I know and have seen photos of many variations of customized '98 rifles. I'm wondering how prevalent customizing a military '96 was.

As for why, I have a chopped up '96 hunting rifle. Someone has cut the military barrel and given it a nice crown. The stock forend has been cut down, the bolt has been bent, and the receiver has been drilled and tapped for scope mounts. It has become one of "Bubba's" hunting rifles. I bought it in this condition. Overall whoever did the damage did a good job, and it makes a nice hunting rifle.

BUT, I would really like to make her pretty. I've sporterized a couple of '98's that I got as actions only, so doing some work on it is not a huge challenge. But I would love to see some examples from the past. I'm thinking of rifles customized similar to the "Cigarette" rifles post war. I'm not sure if any well known makers bought and used military actions and barrels, but would love to see some.

Basically I'm looking for information and inspiration.
