I think so too. I will take possession this coming Thursday. I did see the 8x64 listed and was thinking of it first, however I don't hunt moose noe elk any more, so the 8mm's would be somewhat overkill for me. I went back to the 6.5x57 as I've always thought that calibre made sense, even back in the 1960's when I started with a 6.5 Rem. Mag. with 20" bl. I figured a 6.5x57mm with a 24" bl. would about duplicate what the Mag. did in its stubby bl. I used it with 100gr. HP Speers at about 3,200fps on Ontario woodchucks out to 400yards. I had one of the earlier 2 lens range finders. My shooting buddy Warren used to say: "Your shot Daryl. Let's see how high you can lift this one" |
