Hi Hendo, There are dovetails and dovetails...By the way, the ones machined at Mauser factory are very shallow and, usually but not always, Mauser used receivers with small thread diameters barrels. This means a bigger front bridge wall with more metal to work on. This one factory made seems to be OK for the original cartridge. I have seen other works by "gunsmith" that are dangerously made in my opinion... Anyway, today in Germany no one of this receivers, made at the Mauser factory or not, are able to be reproofed for rebarrel, even for the same original cartridge. Best! PH |
