The story takes place in 1898 in Tsavo, at a time where the cartridge 375 H&H Magnum did not exist, but the cartridge 303 British.

The rifles used in the movie were a sporterized Lee-Enfield caliber 303 British, and probably rifles of caliber 450/400 Nitro Express and 450 Nitro Express as far as the Farquharson rifle and the double rifle are concerned. These were the calibers in use at the time, unfortunately not the cartridge 375 H&H Magnum.
