The Parker Hale triggers work perfectly. The trigger pulls have not varied for over 20 years. The standard trigger on my M70 Palma Rifle was adjusted by me in the summer of 1989 before the World Police and Fire Games contest at exactly 1 kilo - the minimum weight for a "position" rifle in the Shooting Federation of Canada, and to this date, is still 2.2 pounds, or 1 kilo - it has not changed & it does not change shot to shot. Closing the bolt exactly the same each time, will deliver the most consistent trigger pull. Slamming it home usually reduces the trigger pull weight, while closing it very slowly, usually increases the pull weight. This is the system we use to pick up the 1 kilo weight in pre-shoot testing. Consistency is very important, especially with a Mauser action. There, bolt play in the action rings themselves, is likely responsible for varying trigger pulls & has nothing to do with the "make" of the triggers. |
