Triggers

I've seen or experienced many of the various treatments of the M98 trigger, Dorleac drill and tap through Timney through Recknagel, double set, soldered shims, etc. The best I've been able to get is a Siamese 98 trigger with a soldered spacer fit to a Mauser 96; perfect consistent 2.5 lbs every time no variation no creep. Then there's the usual rough as guts 98 triggers and the smooth clean though heavy Mauser Oberndorf factory trigger. The Timney compared to the Recknagel is a used Dodge Echo compared to a new Mercedes. I think the Recknagel is set at 1.5 lb and turned a $150 Parker Hale Safari with a pitted bore into a 5/8 shooter (plus some other tweaking, admittedl7).

But the sheer elegance of the original trigger leaves me constantly thinking that it's the best. Now is there any hidden extremely clever treatment of the original trigger that will get me 'perfect' results? Is there any treatment that can give me something as clean as a Savage Accutrigger -- our modern two stage? Are there any single set trigger assemblies out there for M98? Are there ways of removing slop in the 98 bolt to improve sear engagement consistency?

Thanks and Merry Christmas.
