Re: mauser

yes , you got it

for the FR 8 history just see this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRbtMIqx3Bs

when the FR 8 was surplused by spain in the early 1990s the lot was probably divided by Interarms for north america and Frankonia in germany who take the part that was sold in europe. I bought one of the original military rifles in the mid 1990s, sold it in 2007 but miss it later.
In the same time Frankonia sporterized some FR 8 in good shape into hunting rifles. The work was done by the gunmaker department of Frankonia maybe between 1993 and 1995.
they remove the top wood and the tube with bayonet lug, bend the bolt, replace the iron stock cap with a softer rubber cap, extend the stock with a piece of tulipwood. the stock was sand and the trigger was replaced with a rear set trigger.I think they did a good job than.
I dont know anymore they maybe cost 400 marks than, called Model "Harz" , iirc.

Well, this things hold the price over the years and selling for this in euro today if you are lucky.
this rifle having a lot of benefits

Model 98 Mauser action
they are still in 308 Win, 7,62 Nato with a 46 mm long barrel
the flash hider can be turned of the M 15 muzzle thread so you can use a silencer whats is legal here for some years now

https://www.tactical-dad.com/waffen/scharfe-waffen/la-coruna-fr-8/

the rifle will be still short with a common silencer

because its short, handy and a mauser the whole rifle is exactly the thing dog handler are looking for, even better with the silencer (for the dog because of the noise) and for my girl friend who don't like recoil ( will be her rifle than).
cuting the thread for a silencer alone cost here 200 -300 euro today because only gunmaker are allow to do it and new proof is necessary than.

most of this rifles were build on spanish M 43 mauser actions with the original stock. some exist made by using german WW1 long Gewehr 98 that came to spain in the civil war. I would pay a big extra for such an FR 8 sporter but this things are rare.
there is also a FR 7, similar but build from a spanish M 1893 Mauser.

1918 Haenel made rifle

the FR 8 was also used by spanish police units in north africa so its a proven africa rifle

rifle is paid but goes to my gunmaker first, see it maybe next friday
