DORLEAC .275 Rigby Stalking Rifle

.275 Rigby stalking rifle: a new approach…

When a connoisseur and demanding customer asks that we reinterpret the famous .275 Rigby stalking rifle produced before the war while maintaining the style of our productions, it's a big challenge!
First of all, unlike modern productions, it is imperative to choose an intermediate 98 'Mauser action as they knew how to produce them in the twenties at Oberndorf.
Then, we can modify the trigger mechanism the classical way for a crisp single stage let off before forming an elegantly curved operating lever as on the old London productions of 43 Sackville Street.
It remains to machine a bolt peep sight regulated on the rear express sight and front caterpillar bead.
The stock, of well-seasoned old French walnut, will use a concealed recoil bolt and a trapped steel butt plate.
Here is the rifle now in the white, it has successfully passed the CIP proof test, and all that remains is some finishing touches and surface treatments before she departure for the Dark Continent or the Scottish moors…and still without optics!

Regards to all.
