Hello!

A friend of mine was offered an "original" Oberndorf Sporting Mauser rifle in 9,3x62...He sent to me some pictures but no one of the left side of the action. We are waiting for these pictures, to take a look at the markings and so. Until then I post the pictures we have now.
On the barrel: Specially Made for Chas. A. Heyer & Co. Nairobi.
The bolt handle has been altered, of course.
It has a short cocking piece, like a standard military M98. Seems strange...
I don't have Jon Speed book. I am waiting for my copy...So, do somebody knows if Mauser offered this take down as an option ?
