I saw your comment on scope mount holes, but looking at the picture...

You say the barrel marking is under the wood - and there's no provision for a rear sight - and the stock does not look cut for a receiver sight - and that barrel band looks to be the provision for the forward stock screw/sling swivel...

How is the front sight attached?
