I'm having trouble posting photos for some reason but I will attempt to describe the arrangement.
The rear base of the mount has a male dovetail extending from front to rear, and the square bridge has a corresponding female dovetail cut in it to receive the male dovetail. This eliminates the need for any attaching screws and lowers the base as far as possible.
