One German gunmaker told me that the ban on shipping guns and rifles to Russia hit the upper echelon German makers like a punch in the stomach. It was their biggest market for high-end guns by far and it dried up virtually overnight.
I suspect we are starting to see the ripple effect of this. After all, there were (and still is) quite a bit of trading with regard to certain parts, barrels, etc amongst the name German smiths. If one business is taking strain it will be a question of time before another inter-dependant business also starts to feel the heat.
