In Scotland min muzzle velocity of 2450 fps introduced 30 odd years meant an awful lot of 303s and 6.5x54 mannlichers were traded in for a Parker Hale 270 win. 300 H&H pretty much unheard off. There are a few 240 H&H still around, but not many. 7x57 / 275 Rigby is making by a bit of a comeback, but nowadays it's pretty much 243, 270 or 308.
