One thing that hit me the other day. Was the choice of cartridges to be chambered for the Highland Stalker. .275 Rigby, .308, .30-06, 8x57 and 9.3x62. Seemed so natural to me. Te 8mm obviously to appeal to German hunters. But then I realised, there was no modern ultra, short, fat, super dooper, "modern" cartridges "must have", "must sell" "must promote in magazines" there. And of course I never missed that fact one little bit. The way things should be. Forget the floss. Stick to the classics. IMO. |
