I wonder why they chose the 7X66 SE vom Hofe, when its performance is virtually the same as that of the 7mm Remington Magnum and ammunition and components for it are much cheaper and more readily available.

I have a Bockbuechsflints in 16-70/7X75R SE vom Hofe, with again virtually the same performance as the other two, but the reason for choosing it is obviously the rimmed case, more suitable for such a combination gun.

I also have a Mauser 66 in 7mm Remington Magnum which I have not yet wrung out.
