Years ago a friend of mine had an older brother who built a 220 Swift on an Ariska action, I don't remember what the original caliber was. I don't have any pictures of it but I wish I did, it was a really slick and sweet rifle. I think you could build just about anything on one and not have to worry about the action blowing up.
P.O. Ackley did do pressure testing on all the main battle rifles used by both sides of the second world war. They started by doing overloads and quickly moved up to multiple projectiles. Then they started thinning the barrels down just to see what would happen. He managed to blow up all the actions except the Ariska, and if I remember correctly, it finally blew the barrel out of the action but the action held up. Bob
