I was surprised to see that 3 early Hoffmans (.505, .404 and .375) failed to make the low estimate (or reserve if lower) and an early GH .375 Mauser sold at $6.5K against an estimate of $8-10K. A very nice Niedner mauser also failed to sell. But, surprisingly, an early G&H Springfield which appeared to be pretty ordinary, went for $12K. A nice Mauser Type B in 7x57 went for $6K, but a Type B in .30-06 (with a higher estimate) went for only $3.5K. I think we're in an era of lower prices. |
