I don't mean to confuse matters here but the photo does not look like a Type C. I don't see a military stepped barrel and the sling swivel on the stock is not in the typical Type C location. The shape of the stock with the reenforced side panels suggest an early Type B. Type C did not have these panels. If I am right, this settles the question of military vs commercial rifle. JMO
