I absolutely would - I would insist on the original safety. It's all I've ever used and I don't like low mounted scopes so it's no trouble. My rifles have claw mounts or side mounts (or just iron sights) so there's room. If I was having Roger Biesen make me a .270 I'd go with the Winchester safety.

I really like this rifle of Rigby's - they're Big Game series is not my style at all (but I'm sure perfectly functional and shoot like a dream) but when they get an order for authentic, traditional rifles they can really knock it out of the park. I rejoice to see them doing so well.
