The first thing that struck me was that the original had a trademark Rigby "Tiger Stipped" stock. It seem that Rigby's were rather fond of using tiger striped walnut so the new rifle should have had the same type of walnut. I recall discussing this with Ron Warton in his workshop when he was helping me find the parts to restore my Mannlicher Mdl 1903. It was Ron who found and obtained the new in the white Steyr barrel in 6.5x54 for me.

I also think it would have been better with more traditional light scroll engraving with a sliver nickel ovel inlet into the buttstock as the original.......................... but of course that would not appeal to the modern brash collectors.

The workmanship was fine of course but not in the spirit of the original at all.
