Re: Mauser rifles at auctions

Ben: Very good eye. The Karl Kormes is one of the better guild rifles I've seen. It is a DSB ,solid wall magnum length action. I suspect the caliber is 6.5x68s (an older German hunting round) which is a Schuler (Vom Hofe) caliber. I don't know of a 6x68s round. RIA has no clue when it comes to vintage Mauser stuff. A good buy for someone. The Type S in 7x57 is a very early rifle before Mauser called it a Type S. S/N 17692 puts it at 1906. The rifle above that one looks like a Type M in 8x57 built in 1923. All good buys.
