The Mauser 66 once featured in one Aussie gun writers writings, Nick Harvey, with 8x68S and 6.5x68 barrels.

I had some interest in acquiring one, but price and money at the time prevented that for me.

Also they do tend to be quite heavy rifles.

BUT I did develop and more than strong interest in the two cartridges/chamberings listed - 6.5x68 and 8x68S. I do now have a Mauser M03 in 8x68S and unfortunately, 6.5x65RWS not the Schuler ... still urks me all the time.

Not wanting to go off topic, but if anyone knows if anyone other than Mauser makes barrels for the Mauser M03, I would love to know!
