Ash: The location of "Essex" refers to a town in Massachusetts. Regarding the "Magnum" designation, there is no difference in the chamber or rifling between a "Normal" 9.3x62 and a "Magnum" marked one. It is a matter of proof pressure. In the late 20's, both RWS and DWM offered "High Velocity" loads for the 9.3x62 and the Magnum marked rifles were proofed for these higher pressures, hence the special order Bohler Antinit barrel. |
