John, The original was for an 8x52R service round, though, of course, gunsmiths have built all sorts of rifles on the action. I was told that the 333 Rimmed Jeffery is long for the action, and that it would need work to feed. I did a web search and some seem to have been made into 405 Winchester also. I guess what you can do with one, depends upon how much you're ready to spend on it. Personally, I don't want to modify my actions too much. Hence the speculation and request for guidance.
