Very interesting Bespoke JP Sauer & Sohn Suhl Pre-War Mauser Sporting Rifle in 8X60 Caliber. Completely originial and untouched. Features include - full length, raised matted rib on the barrel with integral front sight ramp, island front barrel swivel, 1 fixed and 1 folding rear sight, metal butt plate, rounded Rigby style pistol grip with correct hand-cut checkering pattern, slim forend with schable style tip. Standard 98 Mauser fip-over style top bolt safety on shroud. EXTREMELY RARE Danzig Mauser detachable scope bases with caming arm. Not often found on other German master builder rifles of the era which makes this rifle very unquie and highly collectible. Bore is crisp, and lands and grooves are clean and clear. Metal finsih including bluing is 99%+, finish on wood is 85% with a light oil covering some very old light handling marks, no cracks, splits or any indications of distress on the stock.
