I like being able to drop a cartridge on the follower with my right hand and holding the rifle in my left hand have the thumb positioned to push the cartridge down into the magazine while the right hand is reaching for another cartridge.
I like the traditional look as it is. Immediately identifiable from any angle as desirable.
