The cyrillic inscription reads as follows: On the receiver ring : Kralijevina (factory) Jugoslavija (country) On the left side wall :Voj.Teh.Zavod Kragujevac (Artillery Technical Institute,Kragujevac). The designation was Model 24 . But the Designation VZ24(VZ means VZOR=Model) is for the Czech Model 24 reserved. The Jugo Mod 24 was manufactured by FN (the first 100.000) and the rest on the FN machinery in Kragujevac. The above mentioned cyrillic markings were attached in the production after 1931. Concerning the action dimensions that model used it could be assorted to a mixture between Large ring standard length(i.e. common / normal / standard 98) and large ring intermediate length(for example the commercial 7x57 rifles or Peruvian 1909).Overall length of these intermediates were the same as the normal length. Guard screwholespacing also identical. But the bolt length shorter than he normal length actions. Whereas the serbian was a large ring action , shorter bolt (same as the intermediate), however the action is 0.25 inch shorter than the standard . Guard screwhole spacing 7.62 inches (Serbian) 7.835 inches (Standard 98) Overall action length : 8.5 inches (Serbian) 8.75 inches(Standard). So that action is slightly shorter but not a real Kurz action (which was only an exclusive commercial production line). |
