The Gibbs felt long and heavy by comparison although it was a beautiful rifle. I have been told the same from friends with 333 Jefferys on magnum actions. Even the 404 and 500 Jefferys were designed for a standard length action but were also sold by Jeffery on magnum length actions once the Rigby monopoly expired in 1912. That was my point about magnum actions being used where they weren't necessary on the other thread. |
