There's a good range of cartridges based on the 8x57 case, which would allow not only the same head size and length but the same case taper, to work through the same feed rails. 5.6x57 for smaller game and 7x57 for deer and other bigger game perhaps? Or perhaps 6mm Rem and 8x57?
