Interesting. I made an absentee bid of 7.5k for the Griffin .35 Rem 2 or 3 weeks ago. I followed the auction online and it showed a hammer price of 6.5k when the lot came up so was feeling pretty good. I later rechecked and it showed a hammer price of 7.5k. I guess I was caught by the 'tie goes to the floor' rule. I should have been more aggressive or bid by phone. Those rifles don't often come to market ... and .... I wanted one of Stretch Kennedy's guns.
