Patagon Hunter, Leopold BERNARD was a top notch French barrel maker from the end of the IXX° century. Gastinne-Renette, also a great name in the gun trade and gun making, was one of the most prestigious firms at the same period. Now, about the "Diavari" D 1,5-6x36, it is the last of the classic Zeiss scopes and was produced until the end of sixties, before the advent of the Z and ZA newest line. Indeed they are of top notch quality and if well preserved much better than 80% of the modern imported scopes now on the market. However they can’t compete with the present products from ZEISS, SWAROVSKI, S&B or KHALES, but I like their look and their superb lacquered finish. DORLEAC www.dorleac-dorleac.com |
