Swift now makes their #21, Small Oberndorf Bottom Metal for the 9.3x64 that should work great for the 10.75x68. I believe they have them in stock too. A 30-06, mag box is just little to narrow to work well. Could only get 3 down & 1 in chamber. The #21, 9.3x68 mag box has these dimensions: Front Width: .762 Rear width: .939 Front height: 1.140 Rear height: 1.323 Inside length: 3.420 Only about .020 narrow in front. I forgot what Patrick said the side walls were but there is enough material the front could be filed to widen .020 or so. Patrick from Swift said there is enough metal in the front & rear walls to file the front & rear & open it another .100. So can open up box to 3.520 to seat bullets long if one would like. Their #22, 30-06 box dimensions: Front width: .698 Rear width: .885 Height & length same as #21 box. The only 10.75x68 mag box dimensions I have are: Front width: .854 Rear width: .930 Front height: 1.211 Rear height: 1.429 and 1930 Oberndorf Sporter Type B - Outside Dimensions Front width: .940 Rear width: 1.147 Front height: 1.211 Rear height: 1.429 - Inside Dimensions Front width: .854 Rear width: .930 Length: 3.310 So it should be easy to get 4 down & 1 in chamber of 10.75x68 now. Possibly even 5 down & 1 in chamber with a little massaging? Just a little shorter than Mauser 10.75x68 box. Don't know if one can add a little weld nubs on top of box or some other mod to get the extra bit of height or not. But 4 down & 1 in chamber is still pretty good tho. Does anyone have 10.75x68 mag box dimensions they could post? I really like the 10.75x 68 and was seriously thinking about build a Type A styled rifle in 10.75x68 but decided to go with 9.3x62 instead. I'm building me an Osa rifle! ![]() I'm going to use the #21 for my 9.2x62 so I can get 5 down & close the bolt. But thought I'd let folks know there is an option for 10.75x68 bottom metal now. FYI, I have no connection to Swift. Allen |
