Quote: Remember, they were the ones who wanted to add some cash to the deal, not me!! At the time, my Ruger and scope was probably worth about $500., including the ammo I had with me at the range. The value of their rifle?...Several thousands I suppose...I have no idea how many. I'm not kicking myself...I don't feel all that bad about it (at least no worse than I feel about missing out in 1980 on a Velocette 500 for sale for 200 bucks...a barn find in Nova Scotia). You can't own everything, and I really don't want to...but it sure would have been a nice rifle to have, at least for awhile. I shot at that same range (in a suburb of Vancouver, B.C.) for years and never saw that father-son pair or that rifle again. I wonder if they still have it and if they still don't like it much. To them it was just another old .303. |
